- School Bus Operator 30-39 hour (Transit Operator)
The City's School Bus Transit Operator, assigned to CAT's Pupil Transportation Division, performs intermediate semiskilled support work in the operation of large passenger buses in public transportation, daily school transportation, school-related events, charter services, and/or other designated routes to transport passengers in a safe, courteous, and timely manner. Work is performed under limited supervision and reports to a Transit Operations Supervisor.

Responsible for transporting passengers on designated routes within the transit system’s service area; including, the City of Fredericksburg, Spotsylvania County and Stafford County. The Transit Operator is responsible for the safety of customers and equipment, providing good customer service, overseeing passenger safety, fare collection, working independently with minimal supervision, bus schedule adherence, arriving on-time to work; assisting passengers as needed; completing daily pre-trip and vehicle inspections; cleaning and fueling the vehicle, and checking to ensure all equipment is in safe operating condition. - Full-Time Transit Operator
